Frequently Asked Questions – Balance

Frequently Asked Questions – Balance is where you will find answers to the most asked questions in Balance, or you can contact me for help.

What is Balance?

Balance is a Pilates and stretching program that also covers some balance and strength training.  We use simple moves to flowing music with options for increasing the intensity, which you do not have to do until you are ready.

Is this suitable for beginners?

Yes, it is.  All ages and fitness levels will benefit from this class.

Do I need to be flexible?

There is an element of flexibility needed. However, you can still enjoy the class if you are not flexible as this class will help you in that area.

Will I be tying myself in knots?

Not really. This is based more on Pilates than on Yoga. So it is more about core strength, balance and flowing movements than getting into complicated positions and holding them.

My balance is not very good. Can I hold on to a chair?

Yes you can. You can hold on to a chair, shelf or wall, just make sure that it is secure so no accidents happen.

I am not sure if this class is for me. Can I see a video first?

I have put together a preview video that gives a brief overview of the class for you to watch and see if this is for you. However, everyone will benefit from this class as it will help to relax you, remove stress and stretch out our bodies.

What equipment will I need?

Equipment is not necessary; however, you may want to have a mat, pillow, towel / yoga strap.  You will also need a drink so you can keep hydrated throughout the class.

I have an injury / medical condition, can I still take part?

Please seek medical advice before attempting any exercise programs as you would not want to aggravate the injury / medical condition and make it worse.
